Hi I'm new here and scared to death.

I have been on hydrocodone for 4 years now 80 mg a day for neck injury. I want to stop taking pills. I want to taper off.

Hi and Welcome!

It's probably best to talk to your dr about a taper plan and work out something with him. I know you will find lots of support here.

Welcome to SR.
Are you able to set an appointment with your doctor to get a plan and approach to get off the hydrocodone?

We are here for you to support you through this.

Good for you, making this decision to stop. What if you tell your doctor this so you can get some guidance tapering off? I know it's scary at first but I think you're making the right decision and will be rewarded in the long run.

Hi Solo, I was on 70mg of oxycodone for a little over a year. I successfully tapered off. Dropping about 10 mgs per week and down to 5 for the final week. To be honest, I think moderate alcohol withdrawal is worse than the withdrawals I had from the oxycodone. Rooting for you.
