Hi I'm new here and scared to death.

I have been on hydrocodone for 4 years now 80 mg a day for neck injury. I want to stop taking pills. I want to taper off.

Hi and Welcome!

It's probably best to talk to your dr about a taper plan and work out something with him. I know you will find lots of support here.

Are you able to set an appointment with your doctor to get a plan and approach to get off the hydrocodone?

Good for you, making this decision to stop

. What if you tell your doctor this so you can get some guidance tapering off? I know it's scary at first but I think you're making the right decision and will be rewarded in the long run.

Hi Solo, I was on 70mg of oxycodone for a little over a year. I successfully tapered off. Dropping about 10 mgs per week and down to 5 for the final week. To be honest, I think moderate alcohol withdrawal is worse than the withdrawals I had from the oxycodone. Rooting for you.
