BTDT and have the t-shirt! ;-) I think what you said above proves just how strong AV can be and what happens after that first drink. It “re-activates” that desire and makes it even harder to establish another day 1. I know when I was in the middle of daily drinking it seemed impossible to stop. My thought process was “‘I’ll quit tomorrow or the next day or on a Monday or on the 1st of the month”. We all know there is no magic time to stop. Today sounds like a great re-starting point! You had 4 months, you know YOU can do it. Take this as a lesson learned and get back in the saddle. No sense in beating yourself up. Move forward and be sober this holiday season.
