I tried to post this as an answer to your visitor message but I was told I couldn't because I don't have enough posts here, so I have to reply here - about your message asking how day 40's going 
Day 40's gone and so is 41. Tomorrow is day 42 and I am off to a long business trip, 2 countries, many meetings followed by dinners that used to be great opportunities for chasing drinks. This time, I am determined however. I will simply and politely decline. I feel pretty confident. I read a lot of posts about how much it sucks to go back to day 1 and I really, really don't want to do it.
Good for you for finishing week 6! Keep going and stay strong. I will back on Friday when I hope we will be on our way to finishing week 7!!

Thanks tankersfull , day 42 went well didn't even want a drink despite the hot weather we are having here.
Congratulations on making it to 6 weeks too , good luck for today but I sure you will be fine.

Day 43 done,
It's really hot here in England 30c and my AV was saying wouldn't it be nice to have a cold beer in the garden BUT I'm not going to fall for that , I'm not going back to day 1

Day 44 complete ,
Not as hot here today thankfully ,
After 10 days off work I'm back tomorrow , going to work sober , not sure how I used to get through the days when I was hungover every day all day , i would be counting down the hours till I could go home , I used to get home from work and go straight to the fridge and open a can before I did anything else .

Its not day 47 its day 46!!
Day 46 complete,
Stressful day at work today I would normally be drinking can after can now to unwind but not this time , having a cup of tea then bed.
Tomorrow will be day 47...

49 days and 7 weeks sober,
Thank you to all your support , I cant believe I have got this far , I have been close to drinking more than once but always come back here when I do
