Expecting a hangover?

Hi all!
Day 8 here and the first sober weekend for me in 8 years. The first weekend waking up fresh . It's really a feeling like no other. It would have taken me a month to get done what I did over this weekend alone . I was wondering does anyone else feel a little bit odd or strange waking up without feeling like crap? When its something that has become "normal"
I feel great but it's alien to me to feel ok especially on the weekend. It's something I'm looking forward to getting used to but it's a little weird.
Thanks for all your support, you guys rock!
Wishing everyone a happy Sunday. Xxx

Congrats on 8 days!

I think sober mornings are the best, but yes it takes a little to get used to. The first sickness is strange too, as I realized I could get a headache from something that wasn't alcohol.

Physical health is the anchor for recovery. Good for you. Embrace that feeling of gratitude. Keep moving forward. Support to you, Charli.

Yes!

I still feel like I should plan for it! Morning are pretty awesome. Evenings get crappier but tolerable. Eye on the prize.

Char,

For me the physical was tough...but i managed to work out from day 1.

The mental healing...was a living hell. I get tired of explaining it...but i will say it takes a long long time.

The desire to drink..for whatever reason. ..it the real battle. It took many months to develop sober muscles.

Thanks.

Yes I agree
The mental healing is worse than the physical.
