Doctors appointment this morning
I have my annual physical in less than an hour. I moved it up due to how I was feeling physically. Abnormally tired and physically drained. I almost passed out at work. Cold turkey didn't seem the best option. So I figured it best to get some labs done and check with a medical professional. Being honest about my drinking will be hard, but very necessary.
GOOD! I done my first 'freak out' post booze sober check up last year. It gets easier....The honesty part- just sharing without shame is a good step. I just had my yearly bloods taken this morning..

I had protein and white blood cells in my urine so he's sending it off for a culture. I already know why. I go back next Wednesday for my lab results.
I'm nervous about that as I'm pretty sure something is going to be off. I also know that's when "the conversation" will occur. Until then I'm going to try to eat healthier and take better care of myself.

Good going. And you can do this- for me, getting all the info laid out was critical. Scary, but necessary. Then I could know that staying sober was the way (only way) to get healthy. With time, my levels for everything normalized. Prayers for you.
Good for you! I know that I have never, ever been honest with any doctor about my drinking. You are brave and on a good path.

Good for you. I lied to my doctor for 20 years. I wasn't truthful until I started having full blown panic attacks and my arm went numb...
FWIW, in hindsight I wish that I had coordinated a medically managed withdrawal with my primary physician. I ended up with DT's and a big ER bill.
Best of luck. The Doctor's visits were very scary for me while I got better and chased down all of my medical problems. But I'm glad I followed through.
