Pour yourself a shot of Self Respect Weekender 10th - 12th June
NOW HOW DID I KNOW THAT WAS PURP POSTING that photo, without seeing the name???? OH DER!
Yes the sun has set in the west for Adam. That was by far the best batman movie. Just having fun.... not the dark, mentally disturbed gothic creature of the night...just a silly person. If all police and world leaders and baddies dressed up like that- perhaps there would be a happier world. Think of it- a world leader that is so ridiculous and embarrassing - no wars ever happen because everyone just sits around spouting off huge speeches and laughing manically.

Morning all.
Thanks for the support it means a lot. To be fair I don't think Mr P trys to sabotage me but he just doesn't get it. It's straightforward to him..... 'Just don't drink -because you can't.'.... or on occasion he has said 'you can just have one....'
Feeling somewhat twitchy about our summer holiday this year.... all inclusive hotel abroad so no driving.... usually we holiday in the UK and he does most of the driving which means he doesn't drink toooo much. Want to keep you guys close but will only have Wi Fi for about an hour a day. Must check my toolbox and look for some new tools. Any suggestions gratefully received.
Hugs xx

My first sober weekend in over a year and before that maybe 3 years...I'm.happy as that I did it, I didn't waste any of my time hungover and forgetting parts of what I did, so simple but such a big joy....
MB ~ sending good thoughts in your direction for your test results!
Petals ~ I'm not sure if you're familiar with SMART Recovery? They have some helpful toolbox material as well.
Red ~ I am still getting used to hangover-free weekends. I doubt it ever gets old!
Greetings, Sao.....I am having coffee as well, getting ready for a (hopefully) good day at work. Fingers crossed!
Hugs all around!

Thank you a lot, friends.
I am waiting for my turn and there is a huge queue to the doctor.
I am trying to breathe deeply but I am freaking out.

Good luck MidnightBlue!
Well done Red78. For me the first few weekends actually got harder but after a few they then got easier. Complacency is my enemy now which is why I am still active on the Newcomers thread as reading about other peoples drinking or early days of recovery takes me right back there.

I am still waiting.
And when there is a big queue there is always someone who is discontent, and soon everyone starts arguing.
I just want to get the hell away from here.

Happy to hear the good news MB.
Congrats Red, keep up the good fight.
Petals, I regret that I drank my honeymoon away. We went to an all inclusive for two weeks in St. Kitts, it cost us a lot of money, more than we could afford for a young couple but we wanted to make it memorable. The booze was free and the bars opened at 10am. All of us newlyweds sat around the pool in the morning waiting for the opening so we could start our day of drinking. We did some excursions, but mostly sat in the compound drinking. (My wife was drinking also) Collapsed, in bed by 6pm nearly every day. What a waste, we could've done that at home. Little did I know it would be another 20 years before we'd go on an 'exotic' vacation again. And I'm soooooooo glad we did that one sober.

Gilmer -yes the biopsy was negative. And, yes, I am so relieved! Emotionally exhusted at the moment though)
Also while waiting and doing my best to gather myself up I tried to usw thos scaruy moment and look deep into what I am so afraid of?
If ro look beyond "it is the thing to be afraid of" - what is this element which scares me most?
It is not so easy to answer, actually.
