Thank God...
I have been clean now for 3 days.
It doesn't seem like much, but it's a lot for me. For the past couple months I make it right to day 2 and mess up. This time I pushed through and I'm doing things differently.
I did a slow taper with my usage, and that has minimized my withdrawal. I feel like I have a bit of a cold if anything.
I have been calling and meeting with my sponsor and others in AA regularly throughout the taper process up til now. I've gone back to meetings.
I'm praying morning and night, and meditating as well.
I told my drug buddies to get lost. That was another stumbling block. They had been friends in sobriety as well, then we relapsed together. I know until we're all well we can't be good friends to each other.
I know not to get cocky. That's been my downfall before. I am just so thankful to have pushed through to this point.

Really, good for you, KittenMittens! It's tough getting past that first week or so. Your body just doesn't want to give it up but stick with it and it will get better. Good that you have someone to check in with and who will help keep you on your sobriety plan.
