I feel horrendous

I used this site before but I gave up on giving up and tried to do moderation.

Last night I did several things that put my job in jeopardy. I think I've got away with it, but I feel it's just a matter of time.

I am so hungover and feel so so ashamed

If you stop drinking now, for good, you'll never have to feel horrendous again.

Maybe it's time you put the brakes on and came up with a plan to get sober? There is a lot of help here if you want it.

Welcome back.

Hi Al31,

I know those feelings well...a few weeks ago I was in bed riddled with guilt and shame...in addition to the physical symptoms of a hangover. I feel for you xxx It is for these very reasons that I have decided not to give up on giving up and am giving it a go for a second time. Wishing you well x

I tried moderating for years, Al31. Each time led to disaster & danger. I never once succeeded in just having one or two. I wish it hadn't taken me so long to finally admit I couldn't touch a drop of it. I'm glad you realize what needs to be done.

I hope things will be ok with your job.

I too know that feeling all too well. It took me years to come to the solid conclusion that moderation would never work for me. As the others have said, this can be the last time you feel this way! Make a plan. Get to an AA meeting and ask for help with this. It will make all the difference in the world!
