You're Looking Better
You're Looking Better
Just had my mental health nurse out making his weekly visit. I explained to him that I've finally managed to kick the drink.
He said that "I was looking a lot better" and "my skin was looking healthier".
It's Day 11, first compliment I've had. Excuse me whilst I have a massive grin for the rest of the day!

That's so great! And it keeps getting better- at 15mo I know I have not looked better since...maybe my late 20s? Early 30s? I am 40 1/2 now People who haven't seen me since I quit are routinely delighted and amazed at how healthy I look and .... how happy I look. It is definitely one of my favorite things about sobriety!
Keep going!!

Well done - it's an amazing feeling isn't it?
If anyone ever says this to me I'll probably cry. Lol
I'll never forget a photograph that I had on my Student ID which had been taken after another all day and night drinking session. Just looked so fat, blotchy red-eyed and sweaty. It still haunts me to this day. I just remember thinking 'god I look like an alcoholic'. I was about 25 at the time.
