Memorial Day Weekender 26th - 29th May
Woke up with a headache, but hey, it's not hangover related! Coffee is working its magic. I think I may head to the gym in a little bit.....that seems to help the rest of the day fall into place. Glad to be here with you all!
Good morning everyone!
Doing some work from home to try to alleviate the workload for the week. Thinking of heading to a friends to watch a movie this afternoon.
Grateful for a clear head!
Enjoy the day

Aargh! Politeness costs sometimes, I failed to maintain vigilance and got buttonholed by one particular neighbours who proceeded to torture me with some of his golfing anecdotes. I was willing for a phonecall, even a spam one but it never came. Next time I will be ready with an excuse.

Finally got to feeling a bit better yesterday afternoon. Met up with some friends at a bar and had my water/food then left. It is nice to be able to drive myself home from a bar,on a holiday weekend night, and not even care if I get pulled over. Pool party today but,I'll be one of the few not hungover for work tomorrow morning.

Don't eat a big bowl of pasta after fasting for 15 hours. Reactive hypoglycemia, worse than a hangover. Counteracted the same way, hair of the dog that bit you lol. Root beer and candy. I'm above 100 but should be closer to 200. Making studying hard, but I think I am in pretty good shape for tomorrow.
Winding down here but I did get to see my grandaughters for once.
Soberandhealthy I really hope you are OK.
Good luck to everyone, If you did make it through the long weekend sober/drug free then three cheers coming your way, it will have bern a much better weekend than the alternative. If you haven't reached that point yet then do seriously consider it, for all its hardships life is so much better without booze.

I had a bunch of vegetables that I had to use up today.
I ended up making a Greek salad with bite-sized pieces of cucumber, heirloom tomatoes, Vidalia onions, black olives, feta cheese, and just enough green olives to give it a little kick. It was seasoned with Marie's Italian vinaigrette.
I was told it was good (I wouldn't touch it with a ten foot pole--I HATE onions and am not fond of cucumbers [pickles I love, but cucumbers, not so much]. Even though I didn't partake, I had a lot of fun making it.
I also made broccoli with special cheese sauce: 3 T Kerrygold salted butter, about 10 oz. of Plain Greek yogurt (whole milk), 4 oz. shredded mozzarella, and 12 oz. shredded sharp cheddar.
It tastes like the cheddar and the yogurt; but the mozzarella is indispensable because it makes the sauce cling to the broccoli without getting diluted.
And we had corn on the cob rolled in salted Kerrygold.

Morning everyone.
That sounds delicious Gilmer. I quite enjoy using up veggies like that, it makes for a bit of imagination and invention.
Congratulations on 7 months DontRemember, that is wonderful.
It is recycling day here, I always have to double check after a Bank Holiday as they sometimes switch it to Wednesday morning.

Gilmer, sounds like one heck of a salad! I bought some bleu cheese crumbles last Saturday. I discovered they don't go so well in a vinaigrette setting, definitely prefer them in a cream based dressing. Tried them on a burger though which was really good.
Don'tRemember, Congrats on your time!
Good morning petals and Saou
Love these short weeks but cramming 5 days of work into 4 isn't fun. Especially when you're in accounting and this week is the monthly billings along with prepping for month end closing. Then I reflect and remember............I still have a job.
Off and running! Everyone have a good day.

Feta and Blue cheese are two of my favorites.
I feel sorry for our accounting team on a period end week when it falls just after the long weekend. You can see the panic on their faces when something goes wrong, like project costing doesn't balance. Final reporting must always be on time, no excuses.

I create a lot of work for our accounts "team" which is all of two people because I have a lot of small and medium size customers. I am always nice to them as they could make my job awkward to say the least.
