Stories of Recovery Thread
Reading through those stories makes me cringe because I'm still in some physical pain from my last binge (day 4 today), but holy **** on a biscuit am I exactly like almost every single one of those stories.
Particularly the ones with alcohol-related liver damage and the complete and utter feeling of emptiness and self-loathing that comes from active alcoholism.
I just thought I would extend a thank you to anyone reading this that has shared their story here.

TWTOM- my story is laced with horrors. Coma, dialysis, possible Korsakoff's diagnosis- blah. 19 months later- apart from being 7kg overweight and slightly higher (have to say 'slightly') cholesterol- all my bloods are better than they have been- in years. The body has a wonderful capacity for repair, provided we put the booze down. Support to you.
