Day 6 Sober

I'm on Sober day 6. It's been tough. It's not cravings I've had...but just stomach pain. It's like someone's punched me in the stomach, and I'm super hungry even after I eat. It's frustruating.
Doctor says it's gastritis and he's given me some medication to stop the excessive acid in my stomach.
Binge drinking has not been good for me.

Just thought I'd check in!!

Congrats!
You may also have him check your liver and pancreas. Both are affected by drinking and cause pain in the same area

Hi KPForever, I hope you find a solution soon. Yes, binge drinking takes it toll on us. I have no pains anymore since I have stopped, i'm on Day 5. I have had cravings though, you think the lack of pain would make me never want to drink again EVER. I was ready to throw it all away last night, so glad I didn't. I was just so frustrated! This is a constant fight we have on our hands I hope you feel better soon. Keep on going!

Gastritis is definitely no fun.

Hope you feel better soon - when you do feel better - please remember this - this is a tangible sign of what our drinking can do to us.

Kpf,

It took a medical scare to help me quit.

There is a movie on youtube about folks that can't quit even after huge medical issues.

I heard most of them died.

After a while, the poison of booze just rots our body and mind.

I have felt drunk off and on for the last 2 years w out ever taking a drink.

It is like a curse. God said...you like getting drunk so much....boom...stay drunk 24/7.

It was terrible feeling wobbly all the time. I didn't have the euporia, just the wobble feeling.

A living nightmare.

Thankfully, it has mostly passed, I of course am no longer physically addicted, and have developed sober muscles and sober habits.

The best advice I ever got here on SR is....it gets better if you stay sober.

It is the truth.

Post, read, stay accountable to the folks here.

Don't ever go back.

Sounds like you don't have many chances left.

Thanks.

Hello
Day 7 and improving. The gnawing pain in my stomach is less. And i'm starting to feel satiated after I eat instead of crazy hungry.

I have gotten my liver checked and my enzymes are ok. But I'm told enzyme levels can be good but liver can still be damaged from drinking....

Pancreas....i'm too scared to have checked out.
