Oh the Places You'll Go!
Oh the Places You'll Go!
Friends, tonight I finished my first year of graduate school to be a clinical mental health professional. I started two years ago, and had to take a leave of absence to deal with a devastating relapse. After deciding that I needed to get back into this program, I worked my ass off, both in my recovery, as well as in this graduate program, to get where I am. I am overwhelmed with gratitude for the people who have supported me in this journey. The world opens up in ways that you could never imagine, once you set down the bottle.
Thanks folks! And now, it is time for this sober soul to try to reverse the effects of sleep deprivation from writing papers and studying for finals. Here's to a(nother) sober tomorrow! I'm so charged up thinking about the people that I can help! Let's lead by example!
