Hi stewy84,
One thought that has guided me through my 18 months of sobriety is placing my sobriety above everything. It seems selfish, but it really isn't. Because only if I'm sober can I be the best version of myself. My thinking and emotions aren't clouded with booze or hangovers. So even when life throws you a curveball you're still able to deal with the changes better. You can do this.
Good luck.
