Hi All - I've been a long time lurker and after many many Day 1's I have finally gained the courage and will to give up the bottle. I've been a daily drinker for 24 years and its time to quit for good. More stories later. Yesterday went very well and only had the AV talk once. I think I was pretty angry at it so it was easy to ignore. I slept pretty well considering but do feel kind of tired this morning.

Now Day 2 and I think the challenge will be greater. AV already talked. "Its Friday. You can drink today." But I can't. So everyone, please wish me luck and prayers.

I have one of those, too. An AV that tells me lies.

I stopped talking advice from a known liar and my life got a lot better. I highly recommend it.

Congrats on Day 2! It's a tough road, but there's freedom at the end of it.

Thanks everyone. I do have a plan. It is still evolving so thank you for the links. I'll check them out. I know I will have questions so I am grateful for the support here. I'm feeling pretty good today. A little fatigue and anxiety but it has passed with some breathing exercise and relaxation.
