Day 18 and happy

Day 18 and feeling good today.

Sun is shining and I can definitely feel some of the depression and anxiety lifting. I actually conversed with two neighbours for more than 30 seconds, nearly 20 minutes. This is unheard of for me.

Ye I would still love to sit in the garden with a beer or glass of wine but I know I won't today, feel a little empowered by this.

Learning loads here.

Congrats Mark! I'm on day 13. My depression and anxiety are still raging, but I'm realizing being drunk caused a lot MORE anxiety afterwards, even though it made me feel calmer during. I have actually been working in my garden a lot more to keep myself busy in these early days. Even ordered some chickens (ahhh!) to take on a new "sober project". I used to love downing a bottle of wine while working in the garden, but I'm finding I enjoy it more sober. Thanks for posting, I'm here with you. Message anytime.

Well done homesteadforage on day 13. Alcohol definitely works for depression and anxiety but it's so temporary that it's not worth it and nearly always makes it worse the next day. I've suffered with this for years and wondered what I needed to break it, hopefully we have found the answer this time. Chickens are cool!!!

Congratulations, Mark! A nice glass of fizzy water with lemon is good to sit in the garden and enjoy. The depression and anxiety will lift, homestead. Hang in there!

Nice work, Mark. You don't need it - it does nothing for you. Eventually thoughts of beer & wine will fade away. It sounds like you're enjoying your new life - I'm glad.
