Words of guidance in early hours of sobriety

I have finally decided after much kicking and screaming and denial to put drinking behind me. I maintained a sober life of 2 and half years before relapsing in October of 2015, but my life has changed since then and I don't have the same resources to keep myself sober. I know avoiding situations in the early hours of sobriety will help the most to prevent any temptation. I am just seeking some words of comfort and advice on this fragile part of the recovery journey. Thank you in advance for the comfort of having a community of people on the same journey, and sending what good energy I can to other's where they may need it.

2.5 yrs of sobriety is HUGE Nama. Know that if you were able to find recovery before, you can do it again. Think back to how great you felt during those years. Just don't drink today, keep posting here and you'll be on your way.

Welcome to SR...there's so many great people here who will support you through the ups and downs of your recovery.

I look forward to getting to know you better.

Welcome namastelove

the best motivation I can give anyone is to share that getting sober and staying that way - changing my life, doing whatever it takes - got me my life back... and I rediscovered a me I'd totally forgotten about.

best decision of my life

you'll find a lot of support here

don't drink, no matter what.

the turning point seems to be when one CHOOSES sobriety, rather than sees it as the other BAD idea.
