Thought about drinking tonight...

It wasn't a particularly rough day at work, but I have felt kind of down and low energy today....totally opposite from yesterday which was a really long work day, and I was full of energy and happy all day. How can one go from being happy and carefree one day, to feeling tired and irritable the next? I don't know how, but it's just how I am, moods always changing.
I realize after I got off work, I was tired, hungry and irritable. In the evening, my mother was being especially difficult and annoying, and this affected my daughter's behavior as well, which just ticked me off even more. I don't know why that woman just can't stop butting in other people's lives.
So, I didn't end up drinking. By the time things finally got calmed down, I looked at the clock and it was 9:40pm. I was cold and tired by then, so I went and made some toast and coffee. Turned my little heater on, got back in bed, and now I'm posting here. So glad I didn't drink!!!
I had to stop and remember how awful and sick and anxious it makes me feel afterwards. Glad I will be waking up in the morning and starting my day off right. Looking forward to another sober weekend!

Well done, Bronzie. I needed to read this right now as I contemplated opening a bottle of wine. You made the right choice and now I'm going to do the same. Hope you have a nice weekend!

My take on the feelings...happy and carefree to tired and irritable..Yeah part of it is because we are human. The other part is I am feeling more moods than I have for a long time. It is called lack of alcohol. Alcohol blocks and numbs feelings. Take that out of the equation and you will feel...hence...become HUMAN again! That is my take on the deal! Glad you didn't cave.

Bronzie, you are doing really well. Remember to eat when you are hungry. Get some fresh air if you can.
I don't know what your weather is like or what your living situation is. I know you are living with your mom.
Where i am going with this. Is there an out door space you can claim for a few minutes a day?
I do a little yoga on my tiny patio when the weather is nice. It feels really good!
Or maybe a space where you can sit for a bit and practice calming breaths. It helps me a lot when I am angry or sad.
Just a thought.
Peace.

No no no, that's not FAIR! We DESERVE to be happy. We can CHOOSE to be happy! :P

No, fact is, some days simply BLOW. And that's okay, too.
