Let's Get Through Together, May Day Weekender 28/4-01/5
I'm IN Sao! Not really sure what the GP is for this weekend. I have some potting of plants to do and I will finish setting up the outdoor furniture. It's supposed to be warm here this weekend so...most likely we'll have a BBQ. I will definitely be working out all days.
Sitting outside on the deck in warm weather and BBQing will most likely be a trigger for me. As we all know, drinks & BBQ go together. I will plan ahead an have a solid GP in advance. Any ideas?

CreativeThinker- maybe a big pitcher of infused water or seltzer water w/ lemon or lime. Whatever your favorite drink is that is non alcoholic have plenty of it near you at the BBQ.
maybe some fruit smoothies? that sounds great too!

CreativeThinker I would try to avoid the BBQ if possible but if not just make sure you have a plentiful supply of your favourite n/a drink and keep your glass topped up.
I will post this photo I took about half an hour ago as you cannot make out any faces. The guy with the blue shoes on the ground is definitely not in his senses, just prior to this he had attempted to enter a restaurant and when refused admittance he then climbed up onto the outside awning. The staff were models of restraint. He later was allowed to get to his feet. I doubt anyone on this site needs reminders of what states we can get in but here it is.

Thanks Sao & Midwest. Sounds like a plan!
Sao-there will be no guests but me and DH at the BBQ. If I'm feeling really uncomfortable, won't be a problem to just go inside and post here or read my book. I need to do it sooner or later. My hope is that once I've experienced it a few times without alcohol, I'll find it easer.

Della and Olive, I'm howling on this end. I honestly thought I was the only one who did something like that. My "fella" is Aussie.
Not having children, I cannot say for sure, but I think the May Day celebrations of my childhood have gone the way of the dinosaurs. When I was a little girl, we'd make quite a big deal about it. We'd glue brightly colored "flowers" made of tissue paper to the side of paper dishes and the pipe cleaner handle we made. After filling them with candy, we would take them to neighbors' homes, with a special emphasis on delivering them to the elderly.
Makes me feel kinda old now.

You guys are all cracking me up. The last time my husband and I traveled he was asking Siri questions. I was getting quite a kick out of it. At some point we were going through a major city (I was in the driver's seat) and we were getting lost. I was a bit nerved up because I've heard the horror stories of ending up in the wrong area while traveling so he starts to ask Siri for directions. What she was coming up with wasn't helping and being on edge I said "Will you please shut her up" and he smirked and said "Don't yell at my girlfriend".
We laughed and it broke the tension, found our way back to where we needed to be.

LOL!!!! I missed the therapy hamster reference the first time around. Nice.
Hi Awake61 welcome!
oh yea, beer and bbq's... something I'm going to have to plan for, could be a big trigger,
Found your cupcake yet BrendaChenowyth?
Congrats on 28 days Normancita!
I forced myself to eat supper so I can get to the chocolate! Worked a bit late today and got home to find out my father-in-law is in emergency (again). Off for another long night in the hospital....
Oh yea, todays appointment went well, we liked the doctor. More importantly my daughter liked the doctor. She's been prescribed Prozac and we go back in two weeks.
