Newcomer really
 

So about 7 years ago I gave it up. Everything but the booze.
Struggling lately n no-one in my life has a clue. Ive got my 5 days n it means **** to everyone, but me. Im struggling with the need for acknowledgment, which I know isn't coming. I want to feel it's enough that I know. I think im just a bit tired. Its hard keepin up appearances. Nice to meet yas anyway.

SR is a great place for support, understanding and encouragement.

I assume you're speaking of people around you who are not alcoholics. "normies" simply don't understand the struggles it is to be an alcoholic, but don't worry, there is mountains of support to be found here, at AA, and other recovery groups.
