I came so close to drinking tonight. Ran an errand without the kids, which used to mean stopping by the store for my alcohol of choice. Argued with myself for 20 minutes weighing out pros and cons, telling myself I would only drink a little. In the end I went HOME without drinking! I am so relieved hours later that I had my 4th sober evening in a row.
I've seen the term "white knuckling" through sober days used here before...I definitely white knuckled through that errand but thankfully resisted the urge.
Thank you all so much for your support. This ain't easy but it's worth it.
