Day 3

Was so nice to cuddle with my puppy last night after the vacation. He is sort of like my service dog for my recovery, and so I really did miss his comfort when I wasn't feeling well away.
I'm all unpacked and now getting rest today before I have to resume work tomorrow. It will be nice to get back to my old routine of exercising and other daily structure.
Thank you all for your support in helping me get back on track after that setback. My sober friend told me last night when I got back that she knows that I know that I am happier and more content and secure in my life being sober, which I agree with.

Well done, FreedomCA.

It's great that you have your pup engaged as part of your recovery.

Sober life rocks!

Thanks everyone. Just to continue being fully honest with things, Day 3 has been a little more difficult than I thought it would be. I have experienced some anxiety, but I know drinking will not help anything, and that I just have to work through it. Just a little reminder that nothing is easy about coming back from a relapse and that there are consequences.

I appreciate you sharing this, I'm sure someone on this site who is struggling will be reminded of the difficulty during those first few days.

You can do this Freedom, you know you can. My anxiety definitely increased in the beginning, and then gradually subsided. I still deal with anxiety occasional,h, but nowhwhere near the levels from when I was drinking.

Thank you. My sober friend just reminded me that my Day 4 tomorrow should be easier because I will be busier with work.

On day 3 and it's a little difficult. I got some Easter money and i am tempted. I have so far been making good decisions though, I've been out walking a lot today and buying healthy food.
Even my fitbit says my heart rate has decreased 4beats per minute on day 3 since my last drink so i can see the benefit already.
Just there's still that little voice in the back of my head going 'go get a couple of bottles'
I do however have work tomorrow and i know it'll be busy so i don't want to go in with a hangover headache.
