Day 8 + 9+ 10 - Dear MelbourneHelp - I am so proud of you
Dear MelbourneHelp,
I am so proud of you. Here we are on day 10 since you binged out on drinking and a day later you made a decision that this was all going to change for the sake of your health, your finances, your family and your relationships. I am so proud of you.
MelbourneHelp, let's me clear on the success of these 10 day of no alcohol - you mind is better, your body is better, your relationships are stronger and you are unstoppable.
You absolutely promised yourself that if that moments hits that you really just want to get lost and have a drink then you will check in on this forum and read your previous "Days of success" posts and so this message is for you, should you need it.
If you are reading this message again it's because you feel tempted. But here's the thing... in the past you have used alcohol as a crutch to hide, to escape, but without alcohol you have realised that you don't need to escape because you love the very person that you are.
No matter how tough life seems you have an incredible life, you have an amazing extended family, a beautiful partner. You have every wish that you would ever want within your grasp.
So, as you are making this "should I drink or not" decision... do the right thing, the thing that your future self would be so proud of. Don't do what you will ultimately regret.
The choice is yours.

Awesome post MH. Positive affirmation is so important. I think some rely on the crap reminders too much in recovery. What went wrong and why. That is certainly important- but in the past. To live in the moment and plan for tomorrow- while processing the past is very important. Keep posting. Support to you.
