dizzy 15 days sober!!!! Just wondering if anyone else had problems with dizzy spells???? They make me feel rough!!!! Any help would be appreciated,,,,,thank you!!!! |
Dizziness may come from poor circulation. Circulatory problem. Besure to hydrate and maybe a trip to your physician to check that blood flowing thru your veins are working well. Blood sometimes thickens for certain reasons and can cause problems. Thinning it may help with help and suggestions from ur doctor. :) |
Congrats on 15 days! That is a fantastic achievement! I'm not sure about the dizziness - best to check in with your doctor on that one. |

Jwc, That is the main reason i quit drinking. I had several spells of vertigo in a 48 hour period. Some while driving, one while on the highway. This caused anxiety etc. It is scary...a real life horror show. It all stopped...in my experience....when i quit drinking. I was feeling weird, off balance for years. I needed booze to feel normal. I triedto blame it on work. That was all my adiction. My unsteady feelings lasted for a long long time. Over a year. Not as bad as the initial vertigo, but just a feeling of general unsteadiness. I felt almost like i was drunk, but i was totally sober. It is/was likely brain damage, probably from my heavy binge drinking. Now that i am clean, i only have to deal w the occasional, but generally daily, crave. I expect to crave for the rest of my life. I am an addict for life. |
I had days like that but it balanced out if it becomes more severe or long lasting seeing a Dr might help ? Good job on day 15 |

mtnbob....Yes, our doctors also suggested us to take a low dosage of bayer asprin each day. :) Last yr I experienced a horrible spell of dizziness out of the clear blue, sober 26 yrs. Doctor told me it had to do with my circulatory system. No vertigo and had test done to say that wasn't it. So far it hasn't happened again but did miss going to Daytona Bike week because of it. :( Made up for it at Biketoberfest. :) |
Jwc1, 15 days sober is FANTASTIC, congratulations. Hopefully it is a temporary condition, however, pay close attention to the dizziness and if it persist go see your doctor, rootin for ya. :egypt: https://tse1.mm.bing.net/th?id=OIP.L...=0&w=218&h=164 |
congrats on 15 days jwc :) If you're worried about the dizzy spells there's really no better alternative than seeing your Dr about it. Be safe. D |

I got dizzy spells as well, , but mine were from anxiety. I wasn't recognising when I was getting tense and stressed and either shallow breathing, or almost holding my breath. Breathing exercises really helped me, together with an awareness of my body and recognising my own anxiety. BB |

I'm right there with BB...I had dizziness but it was due to my anxiety breaking through. Always best to talk to your doc but anxiety can cause all kinds of disturbing sensations. Coming off alcohol can amp up anxiety for a bit. Hang in there!:) |
