Just checking in.

I'm on day 6 without a drink. I was a red wine drinker. At least one bottle of 14% cab 5 nights a week, sometimes more.

Anyway, the facial redness has subsided and I feel l as anxious/depressed.

A new thing has cropped up though. Every morning when I wake, I have HORRIBLE purple bags under my eyes. I know my sleep hasn't been great the last 6 days, but it was also terrible even when I was drinking.

Had this happened to anyone else?

Congrats on 6 days. I couldn't tell you what I looked like for about 60 days. I didn't have the courage to look into the mirror.

I think a lot of us underestimate the toll drinking takes on us - it takes a little more than 6 days for us to look and feel good, but keep going...it's worth it
