New here....and need to quit
I just found this forum. I wish I could go to treatment but being the sole supporter of the household, I cannot go without a paycheck. We are pretty much week to week.
I am getting pretty sick. Just want to stop.
Why does this have so much control over me.
It seems so simple ... just don't drink this poison. But knowing that I do anyways.
At the point this week where functioning without the AM drink is really hard. I have to quit.

Hi janjan,
I hope you find the strength to stop, first day is the hardest, actually I won't lie, the first month is pretty rotten but.... and it's a huge but..... months 2 and onwards are so much better. Your body and mind start to heal in ways that are noticeable to you.
Have you tried AA?
I personally needed inpatient rehab because I couldn't stop on my own. Plenty of people on here do stop without rehab though and I'm sure they will respond to you soon.

Hi janjan! Welcome. You have found a great place for support, both from newbies and from the experienced veterans that have overcome what we all are fighting. You CAN do this. Maybe join the Class of April 2017. They have a great supportive class going so far, and might be another tool in your toolbelt to beat this. Keep reading, keep posting.
