The Perks of Sobriety
I received a random call today from an HR manager at a reputable company in my chosen field about a job posting I applied for almost two months ago.
I have a phone interview on Thursday.
If I was drinking, I wouldn't have even picked up the phone because I cannot function with any amount of alcohol in my body.
I just thought I would share this because it's a direct result of my continuous sobriety now for 16 going on 17 days and it makes me very happy that I went through the withdrawals and just stopped when I did.
Perhaps others can share positive experiences that were directly related to or a direct result of their sobriety.

I spoke w confidence to several folks at work about issues.
In all cases, it was obvious they were generally sober, clear eyed and cognicent.
I was within 2 feet of them each time, and if I was a drunken waste, like 23 months ago, they would have easily smelled the booze and saw my dry blood shot drunk eyes.
I likely would have not put myself in that position.
This interaction has become routine for me since...cleaning up my act. It is so nice knowing I am 100% present and as strong as I can be. It is amazing.
I also earned commendable ratings on my last Performance eval. This doesn't come easy.
I could go on and on....
Booze is poison.
Stay clean.
Thanks.

Great job on the sober days and good luck on the interview!!!
I have found that everything is better sober. Just a couple of examples is that I got a job back at the restaurant where I worked before I quit and it is the perfect place for me with enormous support from mgt and others; I am in a relationship that is strong, wonderful, more than I could ever have had or deserved while drinking; I could go on and on.
Keep going- it gets better and better - and whatever happens in life, work, etc, we get better able to handle good and bad.

Authentic, strong, better, loving, restored relationships with my family, my friends and with myself.
Being able to be truly present and supportive to some loved ones in crisis.

No more lies.
Self esteem returning.
More money in my pocket - credit cards almost paid off.
Got a full-time job where I was working part-time (didn't even want to work full-time when drinking).
Better relationships with EVERYONE in my life.
Waking up feeling decent every day.
Sleep is restful - not drunk tossing and turning.
Very little anxiety.
Depression almost gone.
No next-day regrets.
