9 Days and all is well
I'm very grateful to SR for making the "transition" so easy. Not to say there haven't been white knuckle moments, but all I have to do is log on and it puts things in perspective.
My wife is still getting used to the "new me," and loves it, but still becomes "that girl" sometimes. I earned her mistrust and scorn, but thankfully she remembers the "good me," and gets over it quickly.
I've slowly opened up to a few close confidants, and they have been nothing but supportive, the most common comment being, "I had no idea." We alcoholics are quite talented at hiding it when we have to, and I'm grateful that's not on my agenda anymore.
Sleep is still kind of an issue, mostly because of my work schedule, but last night I actually slept for about 11 hours straight, with only a couple of wake ups to look at the clock and I couldn't believe it ! My appetite is good, and hydration is the key to keeping the headaches away.
Stay strong and connected all !
