Weekend Temptations

Saturday is going to be my biggest test yet, and I can already see myself collapsing and falling back into my alcoholic ways. So many things happening at night, wanting to loosen up and enjoy myself, wanting to be more social and relaxed. I can easily see myself completely relapsing and falling prey to it all.

What are your plans for Saturday night mhc? Maybe you can change them if you think it will be too much? Do you have a recovery plan and tools you can use in difficult situations that help you to stay away from the booze?

Why test yourself. You are three days sober? Lock yourself in your room and avoid temptation. When you get some sobriety under your belt you can engage in the weekend happenings. But for now, sober activities, avoid alcohol, avoid your friends who are going to want you to party.

Like Carl says there's no need to roadtest your resolve this weekend.

I know I had this idea that if I didn't go out like I usually did I'd sit at home alone.

The truth is there are many things to do between those two poles.

make it easy on yourself mhc.

Why not make a plan for a no alcohol weekend - there must be things you can think of to do that won't involve alcohol or drinkers?

There are some great ideas on recovery plans here too - well worth the time to read and think about

Yeah, there is a simple solution. Stay home and take care of your recovery this weekend. Give yourself a chance.
