Quit wasting your life Weekender 24-26 March
Good morning all. Payday Friday today. Payday Fridays were even worse for drinking 'cause a fresh supply of cash meant for more weekend beer. I'm so happy to be putting that cash in the bank instead of handing it over to the big breweries.
So the federal Budget came down this week, more taxes on cigarettes and alcohol (Surprise!). My first response was I don't care I don't drink and I don't smoke. But then I thought of people like me that couldn't stop drinking. The money will always come from somewhere, food, kids, family outings. You may think your drinking only affects you but in the end everyone looses out.

Good morning all. I'm in for the weekend!
I don't have much time to myself right now and extremely busy.
But all is as well as it can be in my world. Im still here, still sober, and still grateful !
See you when I can. Take care, sober buds!

Loved the opener, Sao, which generated excellent initial response posts.
Like Trees, I love everything I read here. Thought provoking, encouraging, inspiring...support, in a word! I read more often than I post right now. I look forward to when I can spend a little more reflective time on SR.

Lunchtime here, a few years ago I would would have spent the morning feeling hungover, had lunch and started thinking about the weekend. At this point I would still be determined not to drink but that would change at about 3pm.
I made a mistake at at work last week. As everybody knows the important thing should you make a mistake is to do a really good cover up and this one seems to have worked as the account has been signed off. Phew!

Hometime. It was payday for many either yesterday or today which always makes my commute that little bit livelier. Where I work is further from the centre of town than where I live, consequently most commuters are heading in the other direction. Instead I travel with a lot of people heading to my part of town for a night out. I hope they go easier on the booze and substances than I used to (just booze in my case but times have changed)
Count me in, too!
Each weekend gets a little easier, I have found. BUT, I must be good at keeping myself occupied.
Have some homework from my therapist for the weekend, so maybe that would be a good distraction (our weather forecast is crummy)?
Looked in the newspaper this morning, which did not have anything that sounds appealing to me (that does not surround me with alcohol).
I have five cats (two of them are baby kittens), so I will probably spend time with them also.
