Hello
I just signed up and I am on my first day sober.
I am 29 years old and have been "trying" to get sober for a couple of years. I say "trying" because I have attended AA meetings but not really done the work or built up a plan to help me, so it's no surprise that I've drank again many times.
The consequences of my drinking have been numerous: I've lost countless jobs, I'm terrified about my health (I have anxiety anyway), I'm a financial mess and the relationship I have with myself is awful.
I'm here to get support. I'm at a meeting tonight and plan to attend 90 in 90 days. I'm keen to read widely around this site and participate so I can have a toe in the recovery community at all times!
It's nice to meet you.

Hi Mrs. It reads you kind of know what to do. A sobriety plan, perhaps a sponsor, a counsellor, a doc- for a physical, journal writing, remember HALTS.
Lots of into in the Sticky's bit. Perhaps join the March thread.
Keep posting. PJ

Thank you. Yes, I really do listen in meetings, I read a lot about recovery and I even hang out with friends that are in recovery - but transforming the knowledge into action has eluded me until now. It's frustrating but I know that I have an opportunity to change my life.
