return to SR

I need to be more active on here. It's been 2 years since I "quit" drinking. I almost got to a year before slipping up and I had three one day slips last year and two this year one ended yesterday. I am not making excuses, I have to check in here and be accountable. I want to be sober, that almost year I had of complete sobriety was amazing. Resetting the counter at day 1 sucks but I hope to move forward and make coming on here a priority for my recovery plan.

PS. I am having trouble with my android app, is there a new app?

Welcome back!

It sounds like you know how to get and stay sober, so hopefully you will get back to working on your recovery. Maybe there is something you could add to your recovery program to help you get through those difficult moments.

This is from the site owners:

Thanks for bringing this up. I talked to the tech team, and while anyone is free to continue using the app, we aren't supporting it with development time since the forum now has a mobile-friendly design. If you need any assistance with the mobile-friendly version of the forum, let me know and I'm happy to help troubleshoot!

I have heard that iOS10 is a bit buggy, so it's possible the SR app will work better when Apple releases the next version which usually addresses any bugs. Unfortunately I can't promise anything, though!

Thanks everyone, luckily my slips haven't caused any harm to my family but I am ready for a slip free Future.

Too bad about the app, I really liked using that.

I need to come on here on a regular basis daily if possible

I need to have a better way of dealing with possible triggers
My main triggers are being alone and not busy with work. All of my relapses have been in the same circumstances. All one or two days. How do you all handle triggers or cravings?

My family support has been good, I can't ask for better family.

It really is a lot harder to stay sober than I thought it would be, it really is a lot of work.

For cravings and triggers there are some strategies here
http://www.soberrecovery.com/forums/...-cravings.html

Urge surfing (as explained in the link) was particularly useful to me.

There some great ideas on recovery plans here too:
http://www.soberrecovery.com/forums/...ery-plans.html

I think with triggers the more strategies you can have apart from drinking - especially like reaching out here and/or elsewhere for help - the better off you'll be
