Tonight, my husband and I had our first dinner out without cocktails in years. We both were a bit ambivalent because we normally would have a cocktail, followed by at least one bottle of wine, followed by an after-dinner drink. I worried that he might give in and order his usual but was pleasantly surprised when he ordered a cranberry and soda instead. After the appetizers came and we began eating our meal the cocktails were not missed. Whoo hoo, 2 weeks under our belt and we feel good! My sleep patterns have been improving. There’s nothing like waking up in the morning with no regrets and no hangover! I do my best to not let negative thinking/AV ruin the progress we’ve made by thinking how long will it last this time before we’re right back on the track to nowhere again?
