I'm a loser.
I am a loser too. A lot of people here are losers. That is why we are here. I hate myself some days. I turn hate into anger into acceptance into action. If you know a thing, you can change a thing.
You can, Bhudson. I thought I was a hopeless case. I despised myself. I thought I was the worst person alive. I was wrong. I was in the grip of a debilitating illness. Fight for your life against this relentless disease. You can beat it. Sober Recovery is a wonderful place to find help and encouragement. Wishing you hope and strength.
I don't think any of us are losers...that's drinkin' thinkin'
I had to clear my house of booze and then basically put myaelf under house arrest to get a day one, but I did it.
Did you decide to talk to your husband?
Chances are he knows if you're drinking rum bhudsontuck - it's not a subtle odour..

You know, you're not a loser. You're probably just an alcoholic. But that won't mean it's impossible to stop drinking. Just that you're going to need true acceptance of how unmanageable alcohol makes your life; how much it screws up relationships (with ourselves for a start off, and making us fearful of being honest with others - that's 2 fairly fundamental relationship crisis points right there!); that moderation is not going to work; and a good sobriety plan to help you learn new and better ways of dealing with life's ups and downs and s**t-bombs, without reaching for a drink.
Most of us had multiple failed attempts at sorting our drinking out before we finally got sober. I had loads of attempts at moderating for example. And short-term stopping to 'reset' my drinking (by the way, that does NOT work lol. Completely counterproductive in fact).
Where are you at so far? If you tell us what you have already tried, perhaps we can make more useful suggestions to help out a bit.
Take care.
Wishing you all the best for your sobriety and recovery. BB
