Life is good
Hi everyone.Hope you all are doing well and coping well, with your sober journey.Today was my first day back at work, after a 15month self imposed retirement. These last 10mths devoted to recovery really.I sailed through today, taking all aspects of a hectic working day in my stride.Didn't dissapoint the folks who are giving me this opportunity to work within the community in my home town.I haven't had to disclose that I am a recovering alcoholic.I had to disclose my disability, which is being partialy sighted.Perfect sight in my left eye, zero in my other, from birth.what you never had,you seldom miss, your brain adapts and compensates somehow. If anyone had told me,just one year ago that I would be where I am now, sober and back doing the occupation that I trained for, prior to many years in the wilderness of an alcoholics life, whether we are a so called functioning alcoholic or a desperately sick one,I would not have believed them.Hope this post can inspire and encourage some of you guys.Msny thanks for listening.
