Sorry to report
A very close family friend (we considered him family) was found dead this morning on his couch. Unofficial cause of death is alcoholism. He had two previous alcohol related strokes and had limited use of his right arm. He was an electrician for my BIL's company and one of the kindest men I have met in my entire life.
Every morning breakfast was at 9AM and breakfast was 3 tall Bud Lights. He knew alcohol was going to kill him, and this morning the bill came due. Very sad.

Yeah, I'm ok. Thank you for asking.
I knew this person via my wife's side of the family. He was only 55. When I first joined this site I stupidly asked if anyone knew of someone who actually died from alcohol. Little did I know. And since then, this is the 6th person I've known that has succumb to the disease. Four from my side of the fence, two from my wife's.

I'm very sorry to hear this and hope you and your wife are doing OK.
Thank you for sharing it. We all need to remember how dangerous this disease is, and never be tempted back into drinking, knowing where it will lead.
