Welcome Keironuk! Sorry you aren't feeling very well. Did you see a Dr.? I am sure you are going to get a lot of different answers on the withdrawal subject, but you have to do what is best for you. "cold turkey" comes with its own different set of rules and severity for each person.

Hi Keiron - welcome
I hope you'll see your Dr if you're concerned about anything.
There's a really wide array of withdrawal experiences. We've collected some of them here:

Vomiting can be absolutely terrifying when withdrawing! Sip water at all times. Try to relax.
In October I had the hardest dry run ever. I got trapped...
In a parking lot. Turned into a wild animal. Heavy violent audio hallucinations (people yelling), reach out to the floor to pick up some plastic and nothings there. Closed my eyes in panic and brilliant images of angry faces. It just wouldn't end.
Pretty sure brain damage occurs. Benzos help if you can stay sober for a time. And they might reduce kindling.

Folks can we stick to sharing our own experience here?
Please - no diagnoses, no surmising whether there may or may not be physical damage, and no medication suggestions. None of us should play doctor here.
Our medical advice rule is pretty clear
The best advice is to always see your Dr if you're concerned about your health.

Keir,
I didn't vomit at all during my wds. I felt like hell though.
I had paranoia for months. I didn't start to really pull out of it for about 18 months.
It went from daily suffering, to daily discomfort, to daily serenity.
The whole time my av was begging me to drink.
I am free today, but relapse is always lurking.
That is what booze does if to us, because we drank to much to long.
Thanks.
