I think this will be sober weekend #112 for me. Never thought that was possible. But it is. The first few were tough, but now weekends are just another day, except with more time to do fun stuff!

My plan for the weekend:

When I go over to my BF house Friday I will stop by QT on the way and get a Big Gulp of Tea or Diet Coke. When he asks me what I want to drink I can say I all ready have something thank you.

We will be going out to eat with his kids. I am going to say "I'm driving, right?" I know he will agree and peer pressure will keep me from having anything.

if you see pitfalls in this plan, pls share.

i'm off to prayer breakfast, see you this afternoon

Good plan, bethshebas.

Just remember, no matter what happens you are not going to be picking up a drink today. You don't drink any more.

Going to bed sober is my favorite thing.

Sober sleep is the best. I go to bed early and get up early now - usually about 9 pm - 5 am. even on weekends I'm in bed before 10. I love having quiet time in the morning before work, when the rest of the world is still sleeping.

Thanks for the nod to Lipsum Solarion, I will try and persuade the boss to make a donation

I have just seen an unattached umbrella go swooping past the window.

Yes sao, bloody Doris! I ll be stuck in London tonight, no trains to go back home. Few months ago this would have been the perfect excuse to drink... not today though.

Me too Marty! I will hit the hay anytime between 8 and 9 and am up anytime between 4 and 5. Waking up in the morning and feeling refreshed and really, really enjoying a cup of coffee far outweighs any of the disaster evenings that I used to call fun.

I'm in. Batten down the hatches in the UK. Sounds rather grim. Dodging wayward umbrellas.

Thank you biminiblue
That's right. I don't drink anymore. Still trying to wrap my head around that fact.

So I've been following along with the growth of an eaglet in a nest via a live online video stream from Florida (it's 54 days old now, not flying yet.)

Yesterday at the beach here I saw a young eagle, it was last year's or the year before's chick probably - still mottled brown, the beak was just turning yellow and the head was still black/dark brown, but they are fully grown in size. I went online this morning to see if I could find out the different stages/ages of colorations so I would know. They don't get their full adult look until five years of age.

A n y w a y

I found this photo that really scales how big they are in a cool way:

Ouch!

Welcome to Weekenders Bethshebas.

You will do it this weekend badger257. I like your purposeful looking avatar.

Wow! biminiblue, mighty talons. I don't visit the countryside very often, i'm the sort of person that would get picked off by an eagle or a hawk. I do know that geese take great exception to a Saoutchik being anywhere near them. The penguins at London Zoo make a point of ignoring me.

Ruby, it was quite bad, worse for a couple of years. No rain though. It is easing now.

Sorry to hear that you are stuck in London MrPL, it can be a hard place to be teetotal, catch a film maybe?

I was due to see a customer today but they canceled due to Doris. Now they want me to go tomorrow, I really dislike traveling on a Friday and also people don't like to commit themselves to buying on Fridays, oh well...

It has poured with rain all day here, Sao. Relentlessly.

Luckily, I haven't needed to go out at all, so have watched the storm from the safety of my sitting room. My son has been on a plane, a bus and a ferry today, though . He's away until Sunday evening, so I hope it's calmed down by then.

I don't think I'll be going out for the next couple of days .
Oh no! That is kind of funny though. I hope the weekend is more peaceful.
