So tired of everyday being a crisis.
I somehow managed to go to the doctor this afternoon. It was mildly terrifying. But I'm glad that I went.
I'm withdrawing. Its coming on faster than expected. 12 hr mark. And for the first time I'm hesitant to take the benzos. I've drank on them in the past. They sometimes make me suicidal.
I can sit here and wait until I'm trapped. Though I truly could start drinking so I can go to the bar. I'm just rarely ready.

Welcome! Withdrawal is no fun at all. I can't tell you what to do about the meds, but I have drank and taken them, and it was completely different than taking them for withdrawal. I am glad you went to the Dr tho. ...that is a huge first step. Kudos!!! This page is great, and if you have to, post every minute, but do not pick up the booze again, that is just not an option.
The benzo's are common to use- WHEN STOPPING DRINKING. With medical supervision you are okay. Take one step, then another. Worry about stuff when it happens- just focus on your health, maintaining support and not drinking. (:-)>
If the doctor prescribed benzos for withdrawals, it's probably a safer option. Definitely better than going to the bar. Of course you have to watch it.
When I was drinking, I also felt in crisis mode every day. It doesn't have to be like that.
