First ever post second day sober. I have just been looking for inspiration to stay sober and have been reading past posts on this site, crying my eyes out. I was fighting with my willpower but that has passed for today. I know that it's early days but I feel determined. I have so much to I want to achieve. I want to look and feel better than I do today.
Awesome job so far Kcey! Keep it up. You have an army of folks who are waiting for your next post telling us that you've stuck to your plan, so post as often as you can. Four days is amazing and it will start to get easier very soon. A much, much better you is waiting, just keep doing what you are doing!
Great question. Here are some suggestions:
1. Focus on your amazing achievements so far! The first four days are under your belt. I've been sober for a lot longer, but I will tell you unequivocally that the first four are a LOT harder than any other four days you will have. So ... not only do you have four days (which I am venturing to guess is longer than you have gone in a very long time), but you have the four hardest days, and you are likely getting close to the point where the physical symptons are decreasing. This is amazing progress. Celebrate it! Get some ice cream or something booze-free that you desire and reward yourself.
2. Set small goals. Your goal right now should be waking up tomorrow and celebrating 5 days. Nothing more than that.
3. Surround yourself with positive and supportive people. Keep posting here, go to a meeting, talk to a close friend or relative.
4. Recognize that a wobble is normal. Your feelings are perfectly normal. Keep them at a wobble and don't let them lead you to relapse.
Keep it up. You are doing great!

Well ... I had to look up what a "midget gem" was and was a little scared at first, but they look tasty! I think they're called Jujube's here. So, by all means, eat your midget gems as you desire and get through the day!

4 days is great Kcey.
Many say that it takes 4 days for your body to clear the last alcohol you consumed, I've always found the first 4 the hardest....then the improvements start. Get to day 5 and let us know how you're travelling, ok?

You are awesome! It can be so hard, the internal struggle. For me, fun has become the key. My distractions need to be fun, whether it is joining the SR book club, actually going to the movies and treating myself to a Cherry Coke (I never allowed soda when I was drinking alcohol, because ... oh, my, the calories in it! Seriously, my hypocrisy is truly astounding), looking forward to a sunrise hike ... things I was not able to do when I was drinking. Transformative fun. Of course, that doesn't mean there aren't dark, difficult times. And it is important to give oneself the space for that, too.
Be proud of your strength and your willingness to do something different to transform your life.

Oh! Midget gems and unintentionally threatening emojis definitely fall into the category of fun! Now you have made me hungry for Jujyfruit. Did you ever see that episode of "Seinfeld"? I don't know if links work here, but:
