going sober oh my
4 days 7hrs and 36 min sober but whos counting right? Android add called sober time has helped me.
Didnt have many withdrawals like 1st time i tried made it 2 days. Anyways saying hello another night of no sleep but no biggie. Been drinking everyday for years day and night so excited about the health getting better. Ordered detox for liver and kidney as well as colon. Figured might as well try to speed up this process. Any thoughts?
Went to restaurant tonight didnt drink and later saw friends and didnt drink. They dont know why im on a "sober cleanse" and thought it was a bit weird. Later they wanted to go out but naturally i wasnt in the mood. I told myself oh well this is for me almost feeling guilty for not having everyone go.
I think im done drinking forever even though it sounds crazy to me even. That we will keep a secret to avoid getting harassed/questioned by friends as ive heard day by day is the key. Not sure how to manage the bar scene but going to have to try something.
Negative thoughts have drastically reduced already keeping the "inner voice" silent.
Going to do some things tomm and plan to not drink. My friends will have to get used to it
Anyways been lurking and figured id say hello i might need the help

Welcome.
And, ditto Scott- don't go anywhere that involves drinking or your usual/past habits. I stuck close to home and my parents, meetings and drs for the first while- and by that I mean 5,6 weeks til I started working and then still didn't add a social life for a good while longer. 100 days or so was a turning point for me in a lot of ways.
Your top priority- whatever your reasons- is to stay sober. Doing anything at all that jeopardizes that- ex, I didn't even go to the grocery alone or else I went in with only my wallet and one of my parents was waiting on me in the car, so there was no way I could buy/hide wine!- is a very bad and very self-sabotaging idea.
Hope to see you around.

Welcome from me too. To reiterate what others have said - if all you have done is stop drinking (big deal though that is!) and you are still seeing the same boozy friends and going to the same boozy places the chances of you remaining alcohol free for any length of time are much reduced. I'd lay odds on it in fact.
My drinking patter involved slouching in front of the TV every night as I cracked open bottle #1. I haven't watched TV in a month now, except for the news now and again in order to change my routine! Drinkign tends to happen in a context.
Welcome in any case - people here only want to help! : )

Welcome to SR. Glad you found us. You will find lots of support here by reading and posting whatever is on your mind. Someone is always listening. Have you joined the Class of February 2017, yet? That is a great thread for early help and to meet people in early sobriety you might be able to relate to.

Some tips for the newcomers. See a dentist! Seriously.... and get to the gym. Other then that theres no secret sauce. Sober helps identify the problems not fix them. Prepare for some work and good luck. I still have a long way to go that will never end.
