Day 26

I have been really tired but I am still getting about 7 hours sleep. I go to bed early but I can not sleep past 4 am. Is being so tired part of the withdraw? I also started a new job a week after I gave up the alcohol may the combination of the two?

Yes. Sleep is part of it. As is anxiety and your body 'getting healthy' Have you seen a doctor for a checkup? This was a have to for me.

Congratulations on 26 days Sammy.

It appears that sleep problems are extremely commonplace in early recovery so I would not be anxious, just make sure you get some physical activity in during the day. It always helps me.

Congrats on the sobriety and new job! I'm just a bit beyond 30 days. The first month is a rough. It is normal to have some issues with sleep from what I've read and experienced. I try to drink some relaxing tea/drink milk before bed. Sleepytime tea works for me. I also take sleeping pills (but this is mostly because of neighbors that are excessively loud and sleep aids are not at all recommended).

I have just started to workout again. I am making a Drs. appointment for a complete check up sometime this month.
Thank you everyone for the advice.
