1 Week today!

I thought I would post here since I made it a full week without drinking! Seems small, but it's a big deal for me. The longest I went last year was like 12 days. I feel better overall, but I have a nasty cold. I was so tempted to self medicate with whiskey, but I stayed strong, and took the appropriate cold medicines (alcohol free), and I'm hoping to get a good night's sleep tonight. It's 10pm here on the west coast. I'm looking forward to my continued sobriety. I have had many failed attempts, but now I just feel the time is right, and I just wanted to share that here.

The day's just starting in England, on an early train to work. I've had a whole lot of fails here too, fingers crossed that you stick it out. A week is amazing ��

Proud of you. The first week is a really big deal, especially if you were sick!

It is a big deal don't put yourself down.

Getting started is very difficult.

im early after multiple relapses too and i think i have10 days today.
i usually screw it up on the weekends - lets try to stay sober this weekend ok????? but first I'm just going to not drink today.

Thanks everyone! I'm having a really rough day with this nasty cold, and my parents being unbearable (as usual) and I have my toddler here who is sweet but very needy.
I'm not drinking though, so that's a plus. I just hate being sick in bed all day. And I feel bad for my toddler who wants to play and do fun stuff. Also, our cat has just been diagnosed with kidney failure, so that's super upsetting (even though he is an old cat). Well, I'm just trying to stay positive and take it one day at a time. Really wish these days were over already.....it's been a long, cold and depressing winter. Thanks again for replying to my post everyone. Hope you are all having a better day than I am!
