75 Days Sober!
It's been quite the recovery roller coaster starting by going to rehab but it was the best decision I've made in my life (and saved my life). Today I'm 75 days sober and I feel I've earned every day. I've been hit with disappointments and very upsetting events since leaving rehab - but I've survived them sober. Recovery is work - in addition to required IOP for six weeks, I found a sponsor and now regularly attend AA meetings. I'm making new, real friends in the fellowship and finally feel that I have found people who "get" me. I am starting to look forward to seeing my group and feeling that I belong, finally.
I wake up every morning hangover free with a better relationship with my son and husband. I pray and stay grateful for the blessings I have - not what I want. I'm hopeful that it continues to get better. Thanks to all of you - there's very good advice and support in this community.
I'm working the steps - on step 2 - and looking forward to someday helping others like I'm being helped.
