Almost a month of sobriety

I don't post as often as I should, but I read the posts every night for several hours and it has really helped me. Today marks the 22nd day I've been sober and the first time I've been sober this long in quite awhile. Ready to hit the month-long milestone!

It ain't perfect, but it ain't terrible.

I've been trying to find some good books to read on recovery/sobriety and some of the titles really hit me, like Living Sober Sucks, But Living Drunks Sucks More (by Mark A. Tuschel). Haven't been able to find a lot of the titles recommended on this site available at the local libraries, but I could always get one or two off Amazon.

So far life has been very different, just in the past 3 weeks. Things are going much better with my wife, I am spending more time with/around my son and am more involved (not drunk all the time). Also, don't spend all my time in the john or thinking about alcohol, can look in the mirror again, and am getting a lot more done (way more time on my hands).

Hoping I can keep this up and not relapse...

Desert,
Sounds like your doing so well. Always keep in mind how far you have come and never give up on it. We all know where one drink leads. You've accomplished so much!

Glad you are seeing the benefits, well done, having better family relations is one if the most rewarding bits of being sober for me too.

Congrats on your 23 days DesertTraveler and to your day two Alexf91! The longer you go without drinking, the more that becomes the new normal. Good luck!
