i'm sober on my birthday!
i'm sober on my birthday!
and proud of it.
ok so i only have 5 days after having 10 years at one time and the last 2 years struggling to put a month or 6 weeks together.
i'm very tired of it and really am trying to take it day by day, hour by hour.
i need support.
i'm glad i found this site.
reading responses and other things on this site stick in my mind and are helping. i am happy to wake up today and not feel hungover and on a weekend! i will celebrate my birthday by seeing a movie and visiting my parents who want to see me. i'm so grateful i can function and do this today. i hope this is the new start i keep promising myself and failing on.

Tiffany,
Happy birthday!
I like how you said things we read here stick. That is the essence, imo, of why this site works.
The continuous availability of support and info empowers us to think our way out of our cravings.
Once we are over the crave, we feel amazing.
I've been posting less and less lately, but read all the time.
I visit here like I visit anything on the web.
But this site provides the access to all of the awesome folks and information that saved me from a tragedy poised to occur.
Like they say in AA...keep coming back.
Thanks.

Happy Birthday and good going staying sober.
I am looking forward to spending my 54th birthday sober in September. It will be the first sober birthday since I turned 25.
I did however spend my 50th birthday sober; it was during the 4 months I quit drinking in 2013. The big 5-0 was a tough one not to drink. Other then my 50th I got drunk every birthday since 1989.
