Bought a bottle

I am 27 days sober and I just bought a bottle of alcohol and have been staring at it contemplating drinking the same way I have done a thousand times before. I have had serious cravings the last few days and everything just piled up today. has anyone ever been so close before? I came here to post and am going to dump it I don't want to ruin 27 days but these demons are tough

Dump it, please. If you drink it, your demons will still be there and you will have solved nothing. In fact, you will have gone backwards.

Play that tape through right through to the end ... of how you will feel physically and psychologically if you drink it.

27 days is a fantastic effort. Well done on posting before drinking too. Now please, please get rid of the alcohol.

Right at the beginning, about a month or two in, I put a bottle of chilled white wine in my grocery cart. I walked around the store with it as I shopped. I put it back right before I checked out.

Why? I played the tape through. I opened that bottle in my mind, drank that bottle. Decided I needed more alcohol, got in my car and bought another bottle. Came home and drank half that bottle, and passed out. Woke up at 2:00 with my heart racing, full of shame, and head pounding. No thank you! Never again. I am so glad I put that first bottle back. Play the tape to the end. Stay strong!

Dump it now. We both know where it ends. You can do it. Don't through away all that you have accomplished. 27 days is fantastic. Let's pour it out.

Fatboy, I've done it. The bottle is somewhere in my house and I don't know where. I gave it to my wife. Do anything but drink it. You'll be glad you didn't drink it.

Pray for the strength to not drink today. Pray like your life depends on it!

I'm so happy to see there was a happy ending, Fatboyanon. Knew you could do it. It's still early days for you, even though 27 is a wonderful achievement. Proud of you!
