So nice to wake up ........

Well-rested (at least compared to a hangover), and starting the day with a nice cup of coffee -- and not jonesing for a drink at 7:30 am.

It's the little things that make sobriety awesome!

This never gets old for me! I really am grateful too for the peaceful mornings and a cup of coffee (or two or three )

Maybe this sounds selfish, but I think waking up fresh and not hungover is one of the most inspiring parts of sobriety. If alcohol had no hangover.....I feel like far less people would even attempt to not drink. Thank God for that hangover!!! lol
My struggle is going to be the weekend....seeing as I typically wouldn't drink during the week.....however, It's my weekend to work (pretty early and all day)....so maybe its good timing and will help me stay focused.

Ditto the above. Waking up fresh and hangover free is wonderful. I only drank in the evenings and I find filling those quite difficult sometimes. AA meetings help a lot - so does the computer, this forum and World of Warcraft!

Jonesing for a drink... what an unusual phrase! !!

Never heard that before. ....I particularly like not feeling like suicide for half the night and waking hopeful not tearful ... it ain't perfect but it's a dam site better!!!

Appreciate every little thing you missed. It can remind you of all the things you have been missing out of during the drinking days. One thing that was new to me was remembering getting in bed to sleep. Followed by lots of coffee in the morning!

I agree. When I was drinking my blood pressure was so high that when I woke up in the morning it was like getting shot out of a rocket. I was wide awake in 30 seconds. Now I NEED that strong cup of coffee and a shower just to see straight, and I like it.
