Life has a way of throwing us zingers... that's for sure, Dee. I'm sorry to hear you've been having a rough time of it.

Sharing your struggles serves as a good reminder not to hold our feelings in. Thank you for that. I had a terrible reaction to a new generic med myself this week. No matter how many times they say the ingredients are the same, they're NOT. Thankfully, I was able to switch back, so all is well now.

Take care of yourself, and look out for those branches!

Thanks for your post. Trouble has definately been on my mind lately. Long story short i met this wonderful lady about 6 months who has Hashimoto's(Thyroid). The first 2 months were really nice but then she took a job and ran herself into the ground. I've been very supportive but the last 4 months she has been really distant and says she just wants to be alone. She has been making all of these irrational decisions like giving notice at her apt without having a place to live and thinking she should move home to E. Europe for a few months to refresh. Last night we had a talk/fight and she said she doesn't want contact for a week. Needless to say i've been saying the serenity prayer alot but still feel this ax hanging over my head. I'm frustrated. Thanks for listening!

Dee thank you for sharing this.
Some days I win and some days my depression does, so I can relate. The struggle to find the right medicine, and the hoops you have to jump through to get it are very frustrating.
Good luck with your scooter repair and your new music gigs.

Dee - I do believe you've gotten all the bad stuff out of the way early in the year. Smooth sailing ahead for the rest of 2017. Possibly.

I'd probably have taken a little vaca from here with all that going on - but not you Dee - you keep on showing up for us. That means the world.

I think it is wonderful to be thankful and it is true you don't have to look very far to see many in a worse situation.
..but being thankful is a relatively healthy mind thing to do.
Depression is such a hidden disease and those that have it tend to hide it...it needs to be talked about and shared, not let it compound, if possible.
People want to help, family friends, work mates, old school friends & forums, like this..

We never can know how much people suffer, unless they tell us. I've been in my own private hell for months, but I don't tell my family much about my state of mind, for example. It feels like a siege, but I don't want to make them worry.

You are right that people usually do want to help, if we let them, but it's not easy to reach out sometimes. I'm really glad that you are doing better, Dee. I'm not big on the hugs, but sympathy, I can certainly do.

You do deserve that much. Be well.

Glad that you are OK Dee.
Sometimes those trees that grab us can hurt us.
Went down on my bicycle a while back -- I hate that.
We don't seem to bounce back like we used to.
Take care,
Bob

Glad to hear you're doing better, Dee....I don't know why it happens that way, but it's always everything at once...and if not everything, it's always something. It's inspiring to see you put your head on straight and push through the rash of crap life can throw at you. I know so many can relate!!

Thanks for the reminder that it's not always cupcakes and puppies and it's okay. And that dealing with the issues instead of hiding them in a bottle is the better way.

Well done for acting on your circumstances, going to the doctor and getting the right meds should be a big help

I was watching to the Australian Open yesterday and early this morning and they were saying it could go to 40C which is tough but the forecast was for temperatures to fall a bit later in the week so there may be a bit of relief on that front

Hope the scooter canopy is fixed soon

Aww, Dee, I am sorry to hear about that.

The blues, they do come knockin' sometimes, don't they.

Really glad to hear you're taking good care of yourself. That's something important to anyone, but especially those of us living in recovery.

Thank you for sharing and know that you've got a world of support out there, quite literally.

Dee, thank you for giving so unstintingly of yourself when you have been struggling. You are kindness embodied.

Big Cream fan - thats my music - so I've seen both Vic - hope you enjoy the Jack Bruce one.

Clapton seems to be the nicest man of the three
