Hi,
I am so tired of drinking and being hangover. Drinking is messing up everything in my life, if I donīt quit now I will start loosing things. I donīt understand why I drink, have a great job, kids, boyfriend, and I love to run and exercise. But at the moment I am in the worst shape ever.
So as from today, I will try to quit, and I thought maybe writing it here will help.

Welcome Soberflower! Joining SR has been a key to my staying sober. In just 9 months, so many things are dramatically better. The early weeks can be so hard, but so worth it. One day (even 1 hour) at a time. Why don't you have a look at the class of Jan 2017 for others who are getting started this month.
I can relate. My drinking hadn't gotten to a rock bottom point by any means, but I have gotten out of shape and become guild ridden over it. And like you, I have a good job, my employer thinks very highly of me and have a loving family. Drinking never really made me happier. It got to a point where I was drinking just because that's what I Did.
Sober,
Hi!
From a biological view, you drink because you are addicted.
Knowing that is half the battle.
Booze is not a mysterious elixir.
It is a toxin the alters dopamine production.
Drinking booze causes a short term euphoria. The emotional side of the brain craves that.
Natural dopamine is reduced from drinking...so we want more booze.
It takes a long time for natural dopamine to normalize, this whole time relapse looms.
Once hooked, we will be addicted for life.
Thanks for the post.

I think youre going to find it really helpful here.there is always someone online and after trying other sites I cannot tell you how much of a difference it makes having someone to reach out to immediately, like you do here. Check it often and read through and I really feel you will begin to feel you are in the right place and you can do this!
Hi there....I just came back today for my 3rd attempt in 3 years.....feeling a little low myself and wasted ANOTHER wonderful sunday being hungover....this place has always been here and never judged anything I've said or done....like I said, 3rd attempt....and I've already received several encouraging responses. When all else fails, get comfy and get on this site...
